Fantastic Journeys Bio
Fantastic Journeys CIC is Peter Burgess and Rose Gordon. We have been working together since 2019 and have delivered music and movement sessions in many different venues including most recently, at Warley Woods in Bearwood. We take the people we work with on an immersive journey that includes music making, dancing, singing and playing. We are passionate about making the arts inclusive and accessible to all.
Peter is an experienced multi instrumentalist who can play a number of stringed instruments. Peter has performed with a range of groups including a bluegrass band and a hip hop collective. He has delivered music workshops and classes in a variety of settings including day services, educational and community settings. He has worked with vulnerable people and people with additional needs since 2001. He also has a teaching qualification and an M.Ed specialising in supporting people with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties.
Rose has a BA (Hons) in dance from The University of Wolverhampton. She was the Dance artist in residence (DAiR) for DanceXchange, West Midlands regional and national dance agency from September 2005-August 2008. She has worked for Telford Culture Zone delivering primary schools workshops, taught on the Midland Arts Centre (mac) summer scheme, delivered workshops for Birmingham Hippodrome and Birmingham Stage Company. She loves storytelling and works to incorporate this into her dance workshops.
